My personal opinion of "Graduation...now what?"

Resultado de imaxes para ted talks graduation...now what? This psychologist that previously was math teacher arrived at the psychology thanks to her curiosity in value what was the things that did a person (student) be more brilliant that another one, as much in the studies, professional life, etc.

According to her study she arrives at the conclusion that is not important the IQ, studies, etc., but the fundamental is the determination.
Resultado de imaxes para determination

She defines the determination as fix a challenge and fight day by day, year by year to get it. Take things as an marathon and not as a sprint race.

I, personally, love the comparison that she does with the sport, because I think the life is a constant training and only meet his goals the people who never give up in spite of the tumbles (damages).

FIRST EMAIL

Hi teacher! How are you?
I am Marc Rodríguez and I'm doing second of scientific bachillerat.
I am writing this email to tell you a little bit of which is my goal.
My challenge in this year is only one, but I think is the most important.
This objective is to overcome second of bachillerat with a good grade if it's possible.
I want to finish this school year with good results because last year I ended first of bach with a bad mark, I think, and this year I will put my best effort to get a better global mark and like this can choose a degree that I like.
I will face this challenge, never I will give up on myself!

                                                                                    See you soon,

The homework that inspires horror in families

 http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-36500648

Homework can sometimes be a nightmare - for both children and their parents. In France the ritual of copying out poems and learning them by heart is no exception and can fill whole families with horror, writes Joanna Robertson in Paris.

Le cahier de poesie - the poetry book - is a standard-format exercise book required by every primary school child in France. Ninety-four mixed pages, lined and blank. The lined - for the pupil to copy out the text of a poem. The blank - for them to provide an illustration.

The schoolchild homeworks, in France, as in Spain (we imagine that in more countries), I think that are excessive, because the student when finishes his school timetable he has to continue at home so much more time studying. That suppose that both for parents and for children can't dedicate to their free time, that is convenient.
On the other land, is very questioned the contribution of so many homeworks to the student learning, because in other countries with less homeworks they obtain better academic results.

The house where the Philippines' forgotten 'comfort women' were held

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-36537605

Hundreds of thousands of women and girls across Asia were raped and forced into sexual slavery by Japanese soldiers during World War Two. Some have been offered a direct apology and compensation from the Japanese government - but not in the Philippines. The last survivors there want their suffering to finally be acknowledged.

Today the majestic blood-red villa is crumbling, but memories of the atrocities committed inside it haven't faded.

As it can confirms in this article, the equality of the woman in the world is still an objective to get.
In some countries more than others, the women are treated as sexual objects, without have any type of right.
Occasionally, the excuse is the religion, in others the wars, etc. but the final result always is the same, the woman humiliation.
Even, in the supposed developed countries continues having notable differences between men and women (salary, role, etc.).

Euro 2016: Hungary, Belgium and Portugal federations charged

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36570929

The football associations of Hungary, Belgium and Portugal are the latest to be charged by UEFA over the behaviour of their supporters at Euro 2016.
The Hungarian federation is charged with crowd disturbances, the setting off of fireworks and the throwing of objects during their draw with Iceland.
The Belgian association is charged with the setting off of fireworks and the throwing of objects during their win over Republic of Ireland, while Portugal are charged with a field invasion during the draw with Austria.

Now, in the Euro 2016 of France, we can see the part more negative of the supporters, that they confuse the football or other event with a battle field.
With these actions we realize that the human evolution can be questioned, because these individuals still are in the prehistory.
All this, we would have to reflect and think about that this is sign plus of one society without values.

E3: Hopes of a games arcade revival

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-36558593

The necessity of games arcades was due to the sophisticated technology on offer. Dedicated cabinets had computers set up to play that game and that game alone. Home gaming, in the very early days of Space Invaders, was simply too expensive for most.

As time went on, technology got better. And cheaper. Suddenly, games arcades were losing their purpose in life. If a PlayStation gave you as good an experience in your bedroom, why go to a building and spend your spare change to play for just a few minutes at a time?

We verify one time more that the technology continues progressing, as is the case of virtual reality.
All of this technology can use with playful purposes (video games, simulators, etc.) or scientifics (surgery, electronics, etc.).
All of these technological utensils, sometimes, develop thinking about specific purposes and after they develop to other fields that at the beginning were unthinkable, as happen with all warlike topic, arms theme.

Jo Cox MP death: Thomas Mair in court on murder charge

 http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-36567005

Thomas Mair gave his name as "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain", when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Mrs Cox, 41, was shot and stabbed in Birstall, West Yorkshire, on Thursday.
Members of her family visited the scene on Saturday to read floral tributes and thank gathered crowds for their support.
Speaking in the village's market square Kim Leadbeater, Mrs Cox's sister, described the MP as "perfect".

This case is a sign plus of the manipulation they do the politicians with their scary discourse. They use it for the people vote in favour of the things that they expect get.
All of this, to the extreme, lead to actions as their this individual, that is kill in name of one political idea.
I think the politicians confused when they want polarise so many the ideas, they would have to do more of moderators and think actually in the well-being of the village and not in themselves.
Also, in this case seems the individual would have altered his mental faculties.

Did internalised homophobia spark Orlando nightclub attack?

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-36534693

Investigators are still trying to establish what led a 29-year-old security guard from Florida to murder 49 people and injure dozens more as they partied in popular gay nightclub Pulse.

They are examining indications Mateen was inspired by radical Islamism, following revelations that he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group and the FBI had investigated him twice previously for terror links.

Mateen's father also suggested his son had harboured strong anti-gay views, fuelling many people's belief that the attack was motivated by violent homophobia.

The incident has happened in the gay nightclub in Orlando is a plus sign of the intransigence of a fanatics to others, be for religious reasons, politics, sexual orientation, etc.
Other topic to keep in mind is the facility that exists in America for to get any weapon of war.
The problem for identification these "lonely wolves" is that they can to pass easily unseen, even integrating them, apparently, in the society.
These psychopathic have so much hate in their inside, that they look for any excuse to kill.

Final reflection 1st. Bach

1.  Can you see an improvement on your level of English in the past year/s?  Where, for example?
Yes. In my view, I have improved my English a little in all its forms. I started to speak better in English when I went to United Kingdom fifteen days with a particular teacher for me and talking all the day in English with her. Last year I worked in a hotel and in this place I spoke a lot of French and a little bit of English, I hope that this summer there are more english people for improve my English. In first bach we have worked a lot of things (oral presentations, readings, writings, etc.) but I want to speak better and have more fluency when I talk with english people.

2. Which activity best shows your level of English?
Presentations, I think. Because in presentations you explain a topic to other people and here you show your level of English and your fluency in this language.

3. Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why?
The readings, the writings, the listenings and the presentations. In all, you practice a lot the language and if you do all of them perfect, you can say that you know (speak, write, etc.) very well the English.

4. Which activities did you NOT find useful to learn English? Why not?
I think that all the activities are useful if always are in English, because there are a lot of forms to improve and practice your English, some better than other, obviously.

5. Which activities would like to do again next year to keep on improving your English?
Kahoot and watching more films. Kahoot is a new activity that we have discovered this year. In my point of view is an activity very useful and funny, where you play with other people and where you have to select the correct answer in a short period of time, when the time finish you can see the correct answer and see your mistakes, at the end of the kahoot win the person who have done less mistakes. Watching films in English for to improve this language always is good, because you listen the people and you learn new words, new pronunciations, etc.

6. Open Comments (...More ideas, suggestions for activities, suggestion for new topics...)
Next year if it's possible I would like to get a new certificate (degree) of English, because in a lot of jobs they demand you for working, and it's important for the life.

Opinion essay

- "We have learnt to take better care of our planet". Do you agree?

During this third term, we have learnt a lot about global issues, we have made presentations to the class about how to fight them and the solutions of these global issues, also we have watched videos and some pictures that it alarms us about the extinction of our the planet, and the teacher has taught us how we can save and help the planet relating with the topics that we had chosen for the presentations.

We don't agree with the sentence, because:

Firstly, referring to the sentence, actually there are a lot of people who continue polluting our planet, because they don't know the damage that they do to the environment. In many places around the world the people suffer from many diseases for live surrounded by garbage, toxic gases, polluted water and sometimes the water is stagnant for fault of oil that has been spilled at the sea, causing the death of many animals, plants and sometimes cause boat accidents, because oil is sticky and makes that the boat slip and can't be controlled.

Secondly, in the world there are still wars and dictatorships and these don't care about our planet, because wars wipe out many lives and entire countries, and dictatorships enslave a part of the population to consider them inferior to others.

Finally, we think that the polution has to finish in all it forms, because maybe one day the planet would be extinct cause a lot of pollution that we produce every day. During these latest years, the ice of the countries located in the poles is still melting and the sea levels rises, this fact can cause the flooding of some cities situated a few meters above sea level.

We found a solution that consist in to get the peace in the whole world and accept people as they are; make disappear the racial problems and cooperate together to reach to the maximum peace between citizens of differents nacionalities.
We suggest that a solution for this problem may be teaching people are throwing things into the environment (polluting), saying them that the bad things that they are doing to the environment and to the other people will hurt them in the future, and if they don't obey, punish them.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VACCINATION

Importancia de la vacunaciónThe vaccines are medicines that, applied to healthy people through an injection or orally, generate defences protecting our body, avoiding the infection or the illness.

The vaccination of the villages has afforded that a lot of illness that they caused epidemics in the antiquity, practically they have disappeared.

Is very important that all the people are vaccinated, because if there is only one person isn't vaccinated can cause illness to other people.

Nowadays, there are sixteen vaccines in the National Vaccination Plan. We have to keep the certificate of vaccinations, because is a personal document very important that it guarantees to be correctly immunized.

Lord Jim

An early and primary event is the abandonment of a ship in distress by its crew including the young British seaman Jim. He is publicly censured for this action and the novel follows his later attempts at coming to terms with his past.

https://elt.oup.com/covers/mediumw/9780194791762_mediumw.jpgJim, a young British seaman, becomes first mate on the Patna, a ship full of pilgrims travelling to Mecca for the hajj. When the ship starts rapidly taking on water and disaster seems imminent, Jim joins his captain and other crew members in abandoning the ship and its passengers. A few days later, they are picked up by a British ship. However, the Patna and its passengers are later also saved, and the reprehensible actions of the crew are exposed. The other participants evade the judicial court of inquiry, leaving Jim to the court alone. The court strips him of his navigation command certificate for his dereliction of duty. Jim is angry with himself, both for his moment of weakness, and for missing an opportunity to be a 'hero'.

My star rating is **good, entertaining.

THE RECYCLING

The society of today is very consumer and therefore, we change with a lot of facility the things we use. In fact, the manufacturers create products of less durability, and all of that, produce a big problem: What do we do with all of this waste?
Is when appears the recycling, although we are more convinced to this, still we lack media and more education for do it.

One of the examples more sad and more visible is the fire of the biggest dumping site of tyres of Europe, in Toledo, Spain.
A fire that it had to be avoided, because the authorities knew this big risk. Now the justice would have to do his duty and punish the responsible, because to all of users collect us a tax for this recycling, besides that we have to pay the consequences of this bad management.

Venezuela opposition launches protests to oust Maduro

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-35796096

Opposition supporters take part in a rally against Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro's government in Caracas, March 12, 2016.
Venezuela's opposition has held a day of protests to launch a new campaign to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
Crowds marched in Caracas and other cities to express their anger at the country's economic crisis and called on the president to stand down.
Mr Maduro led a protest in the capital against the renewal of US sanctions on top Venezuelan officials.
The opposition has made clear it intends to use street power to force Mr Maduro from office.
Saturday's protests marked the launch of Venezuela's opposition coalition, the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD).

It's very sad the situation of Venezuela, first with Chavez and now with Maduro (replica of Chavez). Venezuela is suffering a shortage of democracy that it takes it to the extreme poverty, they haven't the products more basics for the population.
A country that it is a big producer of petroleum, for the leaders fault, it is without any liberty type (repression to the opposition), total insecurity (biggest crime rate of world), etc.
The only thing that they do these leaders is to favour the people that believe in the regimen, they are a big demagogues, but they don't think in the common good.

RENEWABLE ENERGIES

Resultado de imaxes para energia eolicaThe renewable energies are very useful because they don't contaminate and they don't depend to other sources that they can to extinguish. In Spain, the wind energy and the solar energy are the most used.
Resultado de imaxes para energia solar
It's curious that in Spain, a country with a lot of solar hours, the State have wanted penalize it with a tax. That's why now it isn't as attractive to home, the use of solar panels, and if they use it are only for the obtention of hot water.
